A 6 hour journey up to play our 1st league match of the season did not bring us the result we would have liked.
Unfortunately New Cambell started slow and lost the 1st Q by 9 goals. Although they tried to pull it back the accuracy of both Oaksway shooters kept us at bay.
3rd quarter NC increased the pressure which restricted Oaksway to just 10 opportunities thus enabling NC to win this quarter by 5 goals. 4th quarter Oaksway were not going to let their 7 goal lead go and they increased the pressure to take this match by 59 goals – 47.

An excellent start for New Cambell against the 7 players Team Bath had at the beginning of this match. NC capatilised on this with some swift passes and timely interceptions which saw them take a 14 goals lead. Their other player did arrive but by this time unfortunately for Team Bath they had to play catch up. 2nd Quarter the score remained pretty even with New Cambell coming away with a slight lead to take the half time score to 36 – 21. Both the third and fourth Q Team Bath moved the ball around the court with a great deal of speed, determination and some nippy footwork to take this half 22goals to 18 but unfortunately for them not enough to win the match. Thank you to the umpires, table and spectators.

New Cambell remain top of the League Div 1 and look forward to their early morning start and next fixture against Oaksway in Hartlepool next Sunday the 7th November.
