Whites Match Report – 13.10.12 v Langdon

The jinx of the White team’s season continued as they took on Langdon.  Still without “Maddy The Mallet finger”, Polly kindly stepped up to take her place. The first quarter started well with the score ending 11-8 in our favour. We further took the lead in the second quarter with some great shooting to lead 24-17. However 5 minutes before the end the dreaded White Team jinx hit the indestructible Belinda, as she went down with an injury right at the beginning of the quarter and poor Emily from the Oranges, who happened to just be watching from the sideline had to come on to help us out. The third quarter ended 35-28

We entered the final quarter with a 7 goal lead but Langdon stepped up the pace and started to chip away at our lead. Danielle and Leanne suddenly found themselves fighting for every ball as the game became more & more contested.   This accompanied by the Langdon supporters who  seem to grow in numbers and noise levels soon drowning out our one supporter (Leanne’s mum) saw the match end 44-45 to Langdon.

All players were disappointed but everyone played well and fought hard, with a special thank you to Polly and Emily for really helping us out.

Look on the bright side, at least me and Emma got through the game without having any slight accidents!!!
